This is the Spacebit moon spider

This bit of robotics from the folks at Spacebit is known as “The Walking Rover”. It’s effectively a moon spider – albeit with 4 legs instead of 8, and a box-like body of metal rather than organic. It’s powered by the sun via solar panels and stores energy on rechargeable batteries. It weighs around 1.3kg, works with Swarm Intelligence, is part of a Modular Robotics Platform, and it can jump.

More Pokemon Sword and Shield news is right around the corner

The release of Pokemon Sword and Shield is on the horizon, and those of you waiting for new information won’t have to wait very long. Today The Pokemon Company announced that the next Sword and Shield info drop will be arriving tomorrow morning. New Google Pixel Buds first look – Enough to intrigue

First things first: I can’t tell you how the new Google Pixel Buds sound. Here at Google’s big product gush in New York City, all of the functional second-generation wireless earbuds are safely tethered down or in the cautious hands of the company’s demo team. Apple TV app heads to Roku as Apple prepares for November’s big launch

We’re quickly closing in on the launch of Apple TV+, and in preparation of that, Apple is rolling out its app to platforms beyond its own. Roku has announced that the Apple TV app is available on its platform beginning today. Those who download it will be able to use that app to access Apple TV+ when it launches on November 1st.

Night Sight starry sky update release for Pixel 3 and 3a

Nest WiFi is Google’s latest attempt at mesh networking

Google has offered a mesh router called Google WiFi since 2016, but today we’re seeing the successor to that system. During its Pixel 4 event today, Google got up on stage and announced Nest WiFi, a new mesh router that improves on the Google WiFi formula. For starters, Google says that Nest WiFi is more capable than Google WiFi, boasting as much as twice the speed and 25% better coverage.

Google Nest Mini gets louder and gains onboard Assistant processing

There’s a new Google Nest Mini, and while it may not look any different, Google promises its smallest and most affordable smart speaker should be louder, smarter, and more flexible. The new second-generation Mini looks just like its predecessor, a compact, circular blob that’s topped with a speaker grille made from recycled plastic bottles.

Google Pixelbook Go makes big battery claims

The Pixel 4 may be the main attraction at today’s Google event, but before we get to that, Google pulled the veil back on a new Pixelbook. Dubbed the Pixelbook Go, this new Chromebook has seemingly been designed with portability in mind – Google says that the entire package is 13mm thick, with a total weight that clocks in at “barely two pounds.”
