Apple TV app heads to Roku as Apple prepares for November’s big launch

We’re quickly closing in on the launch of Apple TV+, and in preparation of that, Apple is rolling out its app to platforms beyond its own. Roku has announced that the Apple TV app is available on its platform beginning today. Those who download it will be able to use that app to access Apple TV+ when it launches on November 1st.

Google bans predatory personal loan apps from the Play Store

Google has banned services that offer predatory personal loans from the Play Store. The change was quietly revealed on the company’s ‘restricted content’ policy page, which now lists high-interest loan services among the types of apps no longer allowed in the store, including certain payday loan apps, ones offering access to peer-to-peer loans, title loans, and similar.

Google Home Mini given away to some users in these apps

A select number of Android users over the past day have seen Google show them a pop-up with an image of a Google Home Mini. This pop-up – or block, rectangle, whatever you’d like to call it – included the following text. “Enjoy a gift for using the Google Assistant,” said the Google note, with the one catch: “Just pay for shipping.”

TIDAL’s new program slashes prices for first responders in the US

TIDAL, the music streaming service that offers a high-fidelity plan for audiophiles, has announced a new major price cut for first responders. The discount is offered under the company’s new Community Heroes program, which is available to paramedics and others in similar first responder roles in the United States. The discount covers both the premium and HiFi plans.

Amazon Music follows Spotify’s lead with Apple TV app

It’s been a pretty big week for Spotify.
